Structure and Organisation

From the winter semester of 2013/2014, 10 postgraduates will undertake 3 years of research at TU Wien into subjects set by URBEM with the aim of obtaining their doctorate. They will be mentored and supported by 16 experts from TU Wien and by 10 representatives of the Vienna Public Utilities Company based on inter-disciplinary and practical collaboration. The doctorate course is led by Prof. Thomas Bednar (Institute of Building Construction and Technology). He has made a particular name for himself as an expert in environmentally friendly and energy-conscious construction and he has often proved his skill at networked inter-disciplinary research.
The doctorate course falls within the TU Wien Energy and Environment (E+U) key research area and is coordinated and managed by Dr. Gudrun Weinwurm (E+U research coordinator) on behalf of TU Wien, and by Dr. Ilse Stockinger on behalf of the Vienna Public Utilities Company, through the Research, Technology Development and Innovation (FTI) coordination centre.
